Vida Energy invests in scalable, innovative emissions reduction solutions across sectors and geographies.
Vida creates value by investing in transformative energy projects that address global decarbonization needs. From e-methanol production plants to verified carbon assets, Vida Energy supports the shift to cleaner, more resilient energy systems.
Vida Energy invests in two core areas: energy and carbon. In energy, Vida's main energy asset is a clean fuels project developing e-methanol, one of the most effective decarbonization tools for global shipping and aviation. In carbon, the portfolio covers a range of high-quality carbon projects that generate verified environmental and social outcomes.
Vida Energy operates under multiple investment models including direct development, co-ownership, and/or investment into trusted technical partners to maximize scalability, risk management, and project performance.
E-methanol is a methanol that is generated with electricity. Its emissions profile is nearly zero when produced with renewable energy, making it a transformational fuel alternative for decarbonizing global shipping, aviation, and heavy industries.
Project Jaguar is Vida Energy's flagship renewable fuel project in Paraguay. The project will produce e-methanol, a sustainable, low-carbon fuel made by combining hydrogen with biogenic CO₂, leveraging Paraguay's vast renewable hydroelectric power as the energy source.
Paraguay offers an exceptional renewable energy profile: more than 99% of its power is hydroelectric. This is paired with stable industrial conditions, strong government support, and proximity to export markets in the Atlantic Basin. These factors create an ideal foundation for large-scale e-methanol production.
The primary offtake markets are in international shipping and industrial sectors, particularly in Europe and Asia, where demand for near-zero-emission fuels is growing rapidly under the IMO's decarbonization targets and the EU's FuelEU Maritime regulations.
Project Jaguar will significantly reduce lifecycle greenhouse gas emissions compared to fossil-based fuels, leveraging 100% renewable power, captured CO₂ utilization, and zero-carbon hydrogen production to achieve near-zero emissions.
Vida Energy aims to expand Project Jaguar into a renewable fuel hub, positioning Paraguay as a regional leader in green fuel production and contributing meaningfully to the global shift towards low-emission energy systems.
A carbon offset represents one metric tonne of carbon dioxide (CO₂) emissions reduced, avoided, or removed from the atmosphere through a verified project. These projects are validated under international standards such as Verra's Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) or Gold Standard (GS).
A project is additional if it would not have occurred without the financial support generated from selling carbon offsets. This ensures the carbon reductions are real and go beyond "business-as-usual" activities.
Vida's current portfolio includes projects in:
India: Clean cooking and rice fields methane reduction
Ghana: Clean cooking
Brazil: Improved Forest Management
Each project undergoes continuous field monitoring and remote sensing analysis. Data on forest cover, emissions, or household usage is verified by independent auditors before credits are issued to Vida through the relevant carbon registry.
